Need to think up some rotational vegan cake flavors for work. I think they’re gonna make that my mission. I’ve already given advice on vegan buttercream to one girl. Will have to talk it over with others and maybe a change can be made. Using Earth Balance makes an obviously vegan frosting and there’s no fun in that! Earth Balance makes everything salty. Frosting generally uses salt free butter. Having a flavorless base would open the door to better flavors. Improving the texture would allow for more decorative frosting work. Hopefully I can improve my location’s vegan frosting game :)
On a side note, it’s team member appreciation week and today was free pizza day. I got a sad slice of vegan pizza just because I could (and because I thought I was going to be off today and had no prepared lunch) and drizzled a little oil and seasoning on it. *sigh* I don’t know why the prepared vegan options are always “Smothered In Daiya” or “Bone Dry Crust With Sparse Veggie Toppings.” Needless to say I chose a slice of Bone Dry with the highest concentration of toppings.
